- Description
- The Nation is requesting sealed proposals from interested, qualified companies to provide consulting services with specialization in architecture and engineering to conduct a comprehensive scope of work assessment across the Nation. Proposals will be accepted from Indian & non-Indian owned firms.
- Detail
- Severe weather events, including winter storms, have increased in frequency and severity throughout the Cherokee Nation Reservation, leading to a rise in utility and power outages. These outages have impacted essential government and health facilities, as well as communities, requiring proactive mitigation efforts. Renewable energy solutions are being considered as a means to improve community resilience by reducing dependency on traditional power grids and ensuring continued access to essential services. This project is funded by a grant initiative designed to develop mitigation strategies through project scoping. The scoping phase will evaluate and develop details for mitigation activities, forming the foundation for a more technical design, cost estimation, and FEMA Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) compliance. This phase will also define project specifications, work plans, and methodologies to ensure the effectiveness of mitigation efforts. Sealed proposals will be accepted from Indian and non-Indian owned firms. To receive Indian Preference a firm must be TERO Certified by the Cherokee Nation Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO) and include a copy of their certificate in sealed submittal. The complete Request for Proposal is in the document section.
